Look, It’s An Octopus!

razzi.me/fizzyfizah

All my thoughts about feeling cold flew right out of my mind completely when I chanced upon an octopus whilst out on a dive yesterday. The dive shop I work at had its usual weekend Club Dives, taking our members out for a leisurely dive. We went further out of the city for yesterday morning’s dive, simply due to the fact that weather conditions on this side of the city wasn’t great.

The dive turned out to be the best one I’ve done so far here in Wellington – visibility was great, the sun had come out after days of cloud and rain, and highlight of it all was my encounter with the octopus. I’d never seen one like this in the wild before – and as many times as you’ve watched them on TV documentaries or in aquariums, nothing beats seeing them roaming about in their natural habitats.

This particular one seemed quite relaxed at having us around it, even appearing to scrutinize and admire us as much as we were amazed by it. They’ve been known to be quite intelligent animals, and the physical beauty and characteristics of this creature simply amazes me. Finally getting to see one up close was definitely a big highlight of my week 🙂

  1. I don’t even know how I ended up here, but I thought this put up used to be good. I don’t recognize who you might be but certainly you’re going to a well-known blogger should you aren’t
    already. Cheers!

  2. I really like your blog.. very nice colors &
theme. Did you make this website yourself or did
you hire someone to do it for you? Plz reply as I’m looking to design my own blog and would like to know where u got this from. thanks

    • Hello Tourist-in-Thailand! Sorry my reply is coming 3 months late… I haven’t been the best of blog owners really, left the site abandoned for a while and even almost forgot my login and password details! I’ve only just seen your comment today *sheepish grin*

To answer your question – no I didn’t build the website from scratch myself. I’m running on WordPress, and have used one of the free themes available to use as the template for my blog. Did a few tweaks here and there merely using what’s customizable via the theme itself. I like WordPress as it’s very easy to learn how to use, and allows for easy management and maintenance of your site. Plenty themes to choose from too, the free ones are good enough already and there are some amazing ones you can purchase to use for a small fee. There’s an abundance of resources on tutorials and help too, if you ever need the support to get a WordPress site up and running 🙂

Go on, have a say...
